hello! my name is sara hagstrom, and i am an illustrator, printmaker, educator, and organizer. i graduated from maryland institute college of art in 2019 with a BFA in illustration. i’m passionate about print, books, and transformative mediums of storytelling; i focus on themes of nostalgia, playfulness and memory. i have a deep passion for farming and earth stewardship and my work is often inspired by nature. you can find me under a good patch of moss, picking turnips in a field, or drinking a great cup of tea.

i’ve worked with indie games, graphic novels, and independently published comics. i specialize in color, character, and book design. previous clients include penguin random house, harper alley, and sundew studios.

when i’m not freelancing, i co-run lucky pocket press, an artist collective and risograph press based in baltimore, md. we publish ignatz-award-winning handmade comics, zines and artist books from super cool artists all over the world. we’ve also run a few pop up events and zine fairs around charm city as well! you can find more info at our website here.
